August 15, 2022
A colt by Bolt d’Oro was among the top-priced offerings during Sunday’s session of the Saratoga New York-bred Yearlings sale, ultimately selling for $355,000 to Greg Martin, agent.
Gainesway, as agent for breeder Matthew Nestor, offered hip No. 314. The final sale price would be the third-highest paid during the session.
The gray/roan colt is the second foal out of Judge Lee, who is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Euro Platinum.
Bolt d’Oro, whose first crop of runners are 2-year-olds of 2022, has made quite a splash with his juveniles on the track. He currently ranks second on the First-Crop sire list with 10 winners and $671,651 in earnings, and has accounted for three stakes horse to date.
Bolt d’Oro has two lots remaining to be sold during Monday’s closing session of the auction.
