Blu Moon Ace newest SW for Malibu Moon
August 26, 2017
Top-10 sire Malibu Moon got his ninth North American stakes winner of 2017 on Saturday when the 4-year-old Blu Moon Ace scored a convincing 3 1/2-length win in the $75,000 Coalition S. at Timonium.
The dark bay was in the lead the entire trip, opening up his lead at the half-way point and coming home in hand to finish the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:15.28, less than a fifth of a second off the track record.
Blu Moon Ace has now won $267,294 for his owner Robert L. Cole, Jr. He was bred by Howard Bender and is out of Access Fee, who herself was a three-time stakes winner.
