Aveenu Malcainu triumphs in Saratoga unveiling
July 28, 2017
For the second time in three days at the prestigious Saratoga meet, a 2-year-old by Into Mischief scored a debut maiden special weight win.
Aveenu Malcainu got the job done on July 28 with a three-quarter length victory going 5 ½-furlongs. The bay colt came from off the pace, collaring front-runner Smokin Platinum inside the final furlong with a late surge to secure the win (VIDEO).
The winner is trained by Jeremiah Englehart for Gold Square LLC and is out of the stakes-winning mare Island Time.
Avennu Malcainu’s win comes on the heels of Trouble for Skylar’s sparkling eight-length win on Wednesday. The duo are two of Into Mischief’s 108 winners in 2017, which ranks third among all sires actively standing in North America.
