December 13, 2024

Led by 9 ¼-length maiden special weight winner Acknowledge, Authentic was represented by a trio of winners on Dec. 13 to up the top-five First-Crop sire’s winners tally to 22.

Acknowledge, trained by Joe Sharp for Repole Stable, was a runaway winner in the one-mile race on the Fair Grounds’ main track. The bay colt closely tracked Blondate then took over with three furlongs to go and powered down the lane to win with ease.

Acknowledge was bred by Coteau Grove Farms, LLC and sold to his owner for $310,000 at the 2024 OBS March 2-year-old sale. Acknowledge is a half-brother to Vino Rosso’s multiple stakes winner The Wine Steward.

At Oaklawn Park, Authentic Gallop came home a two-length winner in a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight affair. After tracking Stiglets for most of the way, Authentic Gallop took over before turning for home and edged clear late for the win.

Authentic Gallop races for owner Gregory Tramontin, who purchased the colt for $300,000 at the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling sale. Bred by Tall Oaks Farm, the dark bay colt is a half-brother to Canadian champion Amis Gizmo, as well as graded winners Kopion and Ami’s Flatter.

Rounding out Authentic’s trio of winners is Fully Authorized, who was a 4 ½-length allowance winner on the Tampa Bay Downs turf course.

The gray/roan colt came from well off the pace and after striking the front in upper stretch, drew off smartly to register his second career win. Owned by Laura Barrish, Fully Authorized was bred by Aaron & Marie Jones, LLC and is the first foal out of stakes winner Streak of Luck.
