Authentic OBS March 2YO offerings topped by $600,000 colt

Leading Second-Crop sire Authentic had one of the top-five sellers during Wednesday’s session of the OBS March 2-year-olds in Training sale when hip No. 491 hammered for $600,000.

Consigned by Top Line Sales, agent for breeder Machmer Hall, the bay colt went to Pedro Lanz, agent for KAS Stables. The colt had worked a furlong in a swift :09 4/5 during the Under Tack show.

Out of Rumandice, the Kentucky-bred is from the immediate family of Grade 1 winners Albertus Maximus and Daredevil, as well as the Into Mischief stakes-winning duo of One Liner and Provacateur.

Authentic, currently fifth on this year’s Second-Crop sire list, is the sire of Triple Crown hopefuls and graded stakes-placed colts Rodriguez and Innovator. Authentic stands this year for $15,000 live foal.
