Authentic has top-five filly Tuesday at OBS April 2YO sale

Authentic’s hip No. 234 hammered for $500,000 during the first session of the April 15-18 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale, one of the top five prices paid for a filly during the opening day of the central Florida auction.

Consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales LLC, agent, the filly worked a bullet :9 4/5 seconds during last week’s Under Tack show. She was purchased by Bill Childs & Mark Stanton and was bred by Pine Ridge Stable.

The dark bay juvenile is out of the stakes-placed Onebrethatatime, whose dam Wonderlandbynight was a graded stakes winner at 2.

Authentic, who is currently second on the Second-Crop sire list, is the sire of leading Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Rodriguez, winner of the Wood Memorial (G2).
