Authentic’s strong sales results continued as Keeneland wrapped up Book 2 at the September Yearling sale on Thursday, with the Spendthrift stallion having the top-priced filly of the session at $750,000.
Authentic’s 2024 yearling sales average is a healthy $208,500, third-best for all Second-Crop sires and the highest figure among Second-Crop sires with at least 20 lots sold.
Hip No. 829, consigned by Jim and Pam Robertson’s Brandywine Farm, was the star for her sire on Thursday when Resolute Bloodstock came out the winning bidder for the dark bay bred in Kentucky by Bill Klislt.
The filly is the first foal out of Hallawallah, who is out of the champion female sprinter Maryfield.
Authentic’s top seller on Wednesday was hip No. 507, purchased for $410,000 by Mike Ryan, agent from the Runnymede Farm consignment. The colt is out of Mezinka and a half-brother to graded stakes-placed Harlocap. Mezinka is a half-sister to Pioneerof the Nile.
