Authentic has sale-topping weanling colt at F-T Night of the Stars

Authentic’s $575,000 colt, hip 125, at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton November auction
Horse of the Year Authentic had the highest-priced weanling colt Sunday at the Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars sale when hip No. 125 brought a winning bid of $575,000.
Whisper Hill Farm was the winning bidder for the bay colt consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency on behalf of breeder Twin Creeks Farm.
“This colt is super athletic and looks just like Authentic,” said Randy Gullatt of Twin Creeks.
The colt’s dam Awesome Flower was a five-time stakes winner and was multiple graded stakes-placed. She is also the dam of Cyberknife, winner of the Haskell S. (G1) and Arkansas Derby (G1) who finished second in Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1).
Authentic closed the Sunday’s one-day auction with five lots sold for an average of $289,000.
Authentic also won the Haskell, along with the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), Kentucky Derby (G1) and San Felipe S. (G2) during his championship season of 2022. He has bred over 200 mares in each of his first two seasons at Spendthrift and will stand the 2023 season for $60,000 live foal.
