Audible draws post five Kentucky Derby (G1)
May 1, 2018
Into Mischief’s Grade 1-winning son Audible got an ideal post position draw during Tuesday’s Kentucky Derby (G1) pill pull when the bay colt drew post 5 in the 20-horse field.
He was the only one of four trained by Todd Pletcher to draw inside of post 16, drawing a sigh of relief from his connections.
Winner of the Florida Derby (G1) and Holy Bull S. (G2) in his last two starts, Audible was made the 8-1 fourth choice on the morning line by oddsmaker Mike Battaglia.
Audible is owned by the group of China Horse Club, Head of Plains Partners, Starlight Racing and WinStar Farm. He has won four of five starts and earned $882,920. He’ll be ridden Saturday by Javier Castellano
Into Mischief is arguably the hottest active North American sire of 2018. Besides Audible, he has six additional stakes winners and 70 winners overall, ranking second in both categories. His 2-year-old sales results have been spectacular as well, including a $1.2 million colt and a $775,000 filly at Fasig-Tipton in March.
