Angel’s Sassy a dominating MdSpWt winner for Cinco Charlie
August 12, 2020
Angel’s Sassy, who was stakes-placed a month ago in her debut, became Cinco Charlie’s third winner from his first crop on Tuesday with a seven-length maiden special weight win at Belterra Park.
The chestnut 2-year-old was in command the entire six-furlong trip and was widening her lead all the way through the stretch to win in hand.
Angel’s Sassy is owned by her breeder Susan Anderson. The filly is the second foal out of Windsail, who has two stakes-winning siblings and is from the family of Grade 1 winners Things Change and Harlan.
Cinco Charlie, who stood for a fee of $5,000 S&N in 2020, is participating in Spendthrift’s renowned breeding program for freshman sires – the Safe Bet program – in 2020, which guarantees breeders a graded stakes-winning 2-year-old from his first crop this year or no stud fee will be owed in 2021 when the resulting foal is born.
