$875K Into Mischief colt triumphs in Churchill debut
June 27, 2020
Whiskey Double turned in a very professional looking performance in his maiden special weight unveiling Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs, winning the six-furlong contest by three-quarters of a length in a solid 1:10.70 (VIDEO).
Purchased by owners Phoenix Thoroughbreds III and Winchell Thoroughbreds for $875,000 out of the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale, Whiskey Double was bred by Buck Pond Farm Inc. and Richard Seale. He is the first foal to race out of the multiple stakes winner Lake Sebago, who produced a full sister to Whiskey Double this spring.
Whiskey Double is Into Mischief’s 88th winner to date in 2020. After being champion sire in 2019, Into Mischief currently leads all North American sires this year by black type winners (15), black type horses (31), graded stakes winners (6) and graded stakes horses (12).
