$600,000 Vekoma colt among highest-priced 2Yos of first OBS session
April 15, 2025

The April 15-18 OBS 2-year-old sale kicked off Tuesday with a banner day for Vekoma when hip No. 246 sold for $600,000 to Case Clay Thoroughbred Management.
The day would finish with the gray/roan being the second-highest price paid for a colt of the session.
Consigned by Thorostock LLC, the colt was bred in Kentucky by Sandra Sexton & Silver Fern Farm. The colt’s dam Paden Affair has produced a pair of winners and is a half-sister to stakes winner Indian Burn, herself in turn the dam of millionaire and multiple graded winner Crazy Beautiful.
Vekoma is the leading Second-Crop sire of 2025 by a wide margin, with over $4.1 million in progeny earnings to date. Among his six stakes winners this year are multiple graded winner Golden Vekoma and Kentucky Oaks (G1) probably Five G, winner of the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2).
