$500K Malibu Moon colt Day 2 at OBS

The final day of the March 13-14 OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale featured a $500,000 colt by perennial leading sire Malibu Moon.

Eclipse Thoroughbreds and Repole Stable teamed up to buy the colt, hip No. 460, consigned by Kings Equine. The dark bay’s 10 second work at the Under Tack Show was just one tick off the fastest time of the sale [WATCH VIDEO].

The Kentucky-bred’s first three dams are all stakes winners, led by his dam Mamma Kimbo, winner of the Fantasy S. (G2). Her only foal to race to date, Balandeen, is also a stakes winner.

Following his best-ever year at stud in 2017, Malibu Moon is off to a terrific start in 2018, with seven stakes horses and three stakes winners already in the first two months of the year.
