After getting pinched back at the start of the 6 ½-furlong race, Ethical Lady was forced to go wide down the backstretch and around the turn. She steadily made up ground and was within four lengths of the lead at the top of the stretch. She was rapidly gaining ground on pacesetter Precious Meadow in the final furlong when the leader suddenly veered into her path, causing her to take up sharply. Ethical Lady, who was just a head back at the wire, was awarded the victory.
Ethical Lady had won a pair of allowance races prior to her latest win, and is now 3-2-0 in five starts for owner Guillermo Berrios.
The gray/roan filly was bred in Kentucky by River Oaks Farm and is the first foal out of Unethical, whose siblings include three-time stakes winner Gray Attempt.
