$250,000 Yaupon colt tops Fasig-Tipton Digital Sale

A 2-year-old colt from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Yaupon topped the Fasig-Tipton February Digital Sale that ended Feb. 25.
The colt brought a winning bid of $250,000 in the on-line sale that saw a total of 157 horses sell.
Catalogued as hip No. 42, the colt went to Shane Yeager from the De Meric Sales consignment. The dark bay was bred in New York and is out of Frosty Margarita, a four-time stakes winner of nearly $600,000 and champion 2-year-old filly in New York.
Through his first three seasons at stud, Yaupon has been tremendously popular with breeders, covering an average of 213 mares per year. A son of sire of sires Uncle Mo, Yaupon stands for $25,000 live foal in 2025.
