$240K filly tops day for Brody’s Cause at Fasig-Tipton
July 10, 2019
The first yearlings by Brody’s Cause offered at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton July sale were topped by a $240,000 filly purchased by Sweetwater Trading Company on behalf of Cool Breeze Sales.
The one-day sale average of $111,250 was nearly 15 times his stud fee.
Consigned by Four Star Sales for Spendthrift Farm and cataloged as hip No. 305, the chestnut filly is out of the Malibu Moon mare Malibu Cove. She is a full sister to Prospective, a multiple graded stakes winner in Canada and the U.S. The filly’s fourth dam is champion older mare North Sider.
Brody’s Cause, a Grade 1 winner at both 2 and 3, bred over 100 mares each of his first two seasons. He stood in 2019 for $7,500 live foal stands and nurses.
