Normandy Invasions’ first yearlings were a hot commodity at the Aug. 11-12 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Preferred Yearlings sale, with excellent results for the first-year sire standing at Keene Stud.

Topping the list was hip No. 520, a filly consigned by South Point Sales Agency and purchased by Vineyard Ventures for $170,000. The dark bay filly’s strong New York lineage includes Baxter and Happy Carrier.

Overall, Normandy Invasion had three lots sell for an average of $80,000, nearly 23 times his stud fee.
