July 13, 2022
Maximus Mischief, whose first crop are yearlings of 2022, was led by a $170,000 colt during Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July sale. The Spendthrift stallion’s overall average at the prestigious one-day sale was more than nine times his $7,500 stud fee.
Four Star Sales, agent, was the consignor of hip No. 123, with Quarter Pole Enterprises LLC the winning bidder for the bay colt. The Kentucky-bred is the second foal out of Lucy Buckner, who is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Stormy Lucy. This is also the family of graded winners Big Runnuer and Moonwalk.
Maximus Mischief is a son of Spendthrift’s three-time champion sire Into Mischief. Winner of the Remsen S. (G2), Maximus Mischief posted 2-year-old Beyer Speed Figures faster than sons of Into Mischief such as Audible, Goldencents, and Life Is Good.
