First Breeders’ Cup runners for Bolt d’Oro and Cloud Computing
November 1, 2022
Friday’s Breeders’ Cup 2-year-old showcase at Keeneland will feature a pair of runners from Spendthrift First-Crop sires Bolt d’Oro and Cloud Computing.
The duo of Major Dude and I’m Very Busy will face each other in the $1 million Juvenile Turf (G1) at one mile, which is race 10 at 5:40 p.m. ET.
Bolt d’Oro’s Major Dude drew post 13 of 14 with rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. who was aboard for the colt’s win in the Oct. 2 Pilgrim S. (G2) on the Aqueduct turf course. Major Dude is owned by Spendthrift, who purchased him for $550,000 out of the 2021 Saratoga Select Yearling sale.
Cloud Computing’s I’m Very Busy drew post 8 and will get the services of Flavien Prat, who has been aboard for both of the dark bay colt’s starts. After an impressive maiden win on Aug. 13 on the Saratoga lawn, I’m Very Busy finished just a length behind Major Dude in the Pilgrim. Chad Brown trains for Team Hanley, Richard Schermerhorn and Paul Braverman.
Bolt d’Oro currently leads the First-Crop sire list with over $1.8 million in progeny earnings, while Cloud Computing’s runners have come on strong of late, with a pair of stakes horses, an allowance winner and another pair of maiden winners in October.
