The first foal of the Grade 1 winner Perfect Alibi is a winner, as Acquitted breaks her maiden at Santa Anita on September 27, 2024.

Perfect Alibi’s biggest win came in the 2019 Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga, which was a followup from her Grade 2 victory in the Adirondack Stakes. She also went on to place in the Grade 1 Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland. She was purchased by Spendthrift Farm while in foal to #1 sire Into Mischief at the Fasig-Tipton November sale in 2021 for $2,000,000.

That Into Mischief foal was born February 18, 2022 and became the filly Acquitted.

Bred and owned by Spendthrift Farm, Acquitted is trained by Richard Mandella and was ridden to victory by Juan J. Hernandez in a Maiden Special Weight at Santa Anita. Acquitted stalked the pace and took over the lead mid stretch to win by 3/4 of a length, the 6 furlong race on turf was won in a time of 1:09.10.
