Omaha Beach colt throttles competition with TDN ‘Rising Star’ performance

Accelerize debuted in devastating fashion Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs, rolling home the easiest of winners by 7 ¾-lengths in a seven-furlong maiden special weight contest for 3-year-olds.
The Omaha Beach colt, bred by Spendthrift Farm LLC and co-owned with Repole Stable, stole the show on a day that featured several stakes, headlined by the Tampa Bay Derby (G3).
Sent away from the outside post in the field of 12, Accelerize immediately took the lead and flew through the first quarter-mile in :21.87. Still well in hand around the turn, Moment’s Notice got within a half-length late on the bend, then after turning for home, Accelerize took his cue from jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. and powered away from the field. Coming home under a hand ride, the dark bay colt stopped the timer in 1:21.20 on a fast track, just a little more than a second off the track record.
Accelerize is Omaha Beach’s third TDN Rising Star and one his 32 individual winners this year. Omaha Beach currently leads the 2025 Third-Crop Sire list with over $1.4 million in progeny earnings.
