Super Chow makes 2025 Debut a winning one

Spendthrift-Bred Super Chow made his 2025 racing debut a winning one, speeding to victory in the Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes on February 22.
Super Chow was born from the 2020 foal crop at Spendthrift Farm and is a son of the late stallion Lord Nelson and out of the Warrior’s Reward mare Bonita Mia. Bonita Mia is a half sister to the Grade 1 winning Carina Mia, and is the dam of the Japanese Stakes winner American Stage, who is also a Spendthrift-bred.
Super Chow is as consistent as they come, placing in 20 of 24 starts, with 10 total wins and nearly $900,000 in earnings. He won his debut race in 2022 at Gulfstream Park, later winning two stakes races that same year. In 2023, he won two stakes races as well as placing in multiple graded stakes races. 2024 seemed to be his strongest year, winning two straight Grade 3 races in the Toboggan Stakes and the Tom Fool Handicap, and later winning the G3 Maryland Sprint Stakes.
Consigned by Scott Mallory, Super Chow sold for $70,000 as a yearling to Eisaman Equine who later sold him at 2 years old for $75,000 to current owners Lea Farms LLC. He is trained by Jorge Delgado and was ridden to victory under jockey Jorge Ruiz.
