Bolt d’Oro’s Generous Lover in her own league with 26-length stakes win
October 26, 2024
Generous Lover turned in a virtuoso performance in Saturday’s $100,000 Best of Ohio Distaff S., cantering to a gaudy 26 ¾-length win to give the 4-year-old daughter of Bolt d’Oro her third career stakes win.
With three crops of racing age, Bolt d’Oro is once again among the best of his generation with four stakes winners, eight stakes horses and nearly $6 million in progeny earnings this year.
As the heavy favorite in the 1 1/8-contest for fillies and mares, Generous Lover made the early lead and set a measured pace for six furlongs while maintaining a 1 ½-length lead. She pulled away at that point and was up a dozen lengths in mid-stretch and continued to run away from the field to finish up in 1:53.71.
Generous Lover is now a stakes winner on both dirt and turf and is 6-1-2 in 12 starts and has earned $319,970 for owner Carl R. Moore Management LLC. Bred by Smokin C, her dam Hula Skirt is a sister to graded stakes winners Turf War and Grasshopper.
