Undefeated Thousand Words filly romps by 7 ¾-lengths in stakes debut
September 14, 2024
Much like she did in her July 26 debut, Andrea went right to the front of Saturday’s Hallandale Beach S. and never looked back, rolling home a 7 ¾-length winner to become the third stakes winner for Thousand Words.
Thousand Words, with 11 winners and nearly $1 million in progeny earnings, is currently fourth on the First-Crop sire list.
Andrea was never seriously threatened in Saturday’s one-mile contest at Gulfstream Park. After a leisurely first quarter-mile in :24.05, she picked up the pace and began to pull away. The margin was three lengths at the top of the stretch and widened the rest of the way as she finished in 1:38.83 over the “good” main track.
Andrea, who now has $66,750 in earnings, is owned by C2 Racing Stable LLC, Kuehne Racing and Mark Corrado. The dark bay filly was bred in Kentucky by Scott Pierce.
