Vekoma’s first Keeneland September offering brings $600,000

Vekoma, the leading Second-Crop yearling sire of 2024 by sales average – at $259,060 – had his best result of the year Wednesday at Keeneland when a filly by the Spendthrift stallion sold for $625,000.
Consigned by Woods Edge Farm, agent, hip No. 692 went to Three Amigos. The filly is the second foal out of Alemia, who is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Stays in Vegas and black type winner Miss Technicality. This is also the family of Grade 1 winners Good Reward and Persistently.
The excellent results continued Thursday at Keeneland when a Vekoma colt sold for $600,000 to Resolute Bloodstock. Consigned by Beau Lane Bloodstock, the colt was bred in Kentucky and hails from the family of three-time Grade 1 winner Val’s Prince.
Vekoma also had his second stakes winner from his first crop of runners on Wednesday at Delaware park when the undefeated colt It’s Hammertime took the $100,000 First State Dash S. by five lengths. Vekoma leads all First-Crop sires with 18 individual winners.
