Authentic lights up Keeneland board with $550,000 filly

Horse of the Year Authentic, whose first crop are 2-year-olds this year, was represented by a $550,000 filly during Tuesday’s session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale.

Authentic’s 2024 yearling sales average of $184,444 is second only to fellow Spendthrift stallion Vekoma among First-Crop sires.

Tuesday’s top seller for her sire, hip No. 271, was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency and sold to Shadwell Farm.

The bay filly is out of Twinkling and is a half-sister to Skippylongstocking, a six-time graded stakes winner of over $2.3 million, as well as stakes winners Olivia Twist and Moonlite Strike.
