Off to the races!
Dear Fans,
Fall is finally here! This time of year is very exciting for us. From cooler temperatures to Keeneland running in October to Breeders’ Cup in November (this year it will be at Churchill Downs), we’ve been very busy. Last week we had the wonderful opportunity to sponsor a little girl through the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Keeneland’s 11thAnnual Make-A-Wish Day named Destiny. Destiny has been diagnosed with Turner’s Syndrome, a chromosome abnormality found in females.
Throughout her big day Destiny was dubbed the Spendthrift Princess and had a chance to meet the Queen…the Queen of Racing that is! Beholder loved meeting her very special guest. Destiny fed Beholder carrots and took photos with her. She noted her favorite part was feeling “Beholder’s whiskers on her hand!”. She also went on to pet an Into Mischief foal, meet Lord Nelson and Malibu Moon, and present a trophy to the winner of Race 5 at Keeneland. At the bottom we have photos of Destiny’s big day.
As Breeders’ Cup approaches, we are preparing for a special edition of the Beholder Blog reflecting on all of her Breeders’ Cup success. Stay tuned!
Sincerely,
Team Spendthrift
