Omaha Beach filly digs in for Aqueduct maiden special weight win

Omaha Beach now has 13 First-Crop winners after Caitlinthegrtness fended off a late challenge to break her maiden on Sept. 28 at Aqueduct.

With three winners over the past four days, including his first stakes winner, Omaha Beach is third on the First-Crop sire list with nearly $1 million in progeny earnings.

Caitlinhergrtness, who was making her second lifetime start after being beaten less than a length in her Sept. 3 debut, pressed Mischievous Miss through a half-mile before taking command. She led throughout the stretch, winning by a half length in a determined effort.

The winner is owned by Siena Farm and WinStar Farm LLC, who purchased her for $375,000 out of the 2023 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale. She was bred by Jesse Korona.
