Goldencents colt an easy winner of the Ontario County S.
June 26, 2023
Looms Boldly collected his second career stakes win June 26 at Finger Lakes with a 5 ¼-length tally in the $50,000 Ontario County S.
The 3-year-old son of Goldencents, who won the Damon Runyon S. in March at Aqueduct, was much the best in Monday’s six-furlong contest. Dee’s Wiseguy flew out of the gate, but Looms Boldly quickly reeled him in and took the lead in the first furlong. From there, the bay colt widened his lead the rest of the trip and was all alone down the stretch to stop the timer in 1:12.41 on a fast track.
Looms Boldly is owned by Ten Strike Racing and now sports a record of 4-1-2 from seven starts, with earnings of $207,640.
The winner was bred by Marshall Gramm and Clay Sanders. Out of See the Forest, Looms Boldly is a half-brother to dual stakes winner Critical Value. Second dam Critical Eye was a multiple Grade 1 winner of over $1 million.
A perennial leading sire of winners among his peers, Goldencents has accounted for 106 individual winners to date this year, with 11 stakes horses and over $4.5 million in progeny earnings.
