Well-related Goldencents colt at F-T Midlantic goes for $250,000
May 23, 2023
The top offering of the first day of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-old sale by two-time Breeders’ Cup winner Goldencents sold for $250,000 during Monday’s session of the two-day auction.
Wavertree Stables, Inc., agent consigned hip No. 193, a bay colt who went to Pierre & Leslie Amestoy and Roger K. Beasley.
Bred in Kentucky, the colt is the first foal out of Glorious Hour. A daughter of Bodemeister, Glorious Hour is a half-sister to the multiple Grade 1 winner Rock Fall. Second dam Renda was a multiple stakes winner and Grade 2-placed.
A back-to-back winner of the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1), Goldencents is perennially among the leading sires nationally by winners. This year is no exception; he currently has 75 to date, third to only his sire Into Mischief and Munnings.
Goldencents stands this year at Spendthrift for $10,000 live foal.
