$250,000 Maximus Mischief colt comes back to Spendthrift
May 23, 2023
First-Crop sire Maximus Mischief had his best result of the 2-year-old auction season thus far during Monday’s session of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale when hip No. 125 hammered for $250,000.
Spendthrift Farm was the winning bidder on the bay colt from the Cary Frommer LLC consignment.
Frommer acquired the Kentucky-bred for $72,000 in the Timonium sales ring last October.
He is the second foal out of Daddy’s Diva, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Empire of Gold (Goldencents). This is also the family of Blue Grass S. (G1) winner Proud Appeal.
Maximus Mischief will be represented by his second starter on May 23 by Carmelina in a maiden special weight race at Parx. He was undefeated at two, winning all three of his starts, capped by the Remsen S. (G2).
