April 28, 2023
Omaha Beach, who already has had a pair of 2-years-old top the half-million dollar mark at the OBS Spring Sale, got his third on Thursday when hip No. 617 went for $550,000.
Consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, Inc., the bay colt named Hard Knox went to Woodslane Farm.
Hard Knox first went through the sales ring at last year’s Fasig-Tipton July sale, bringing $185,000 from Bregman Family Racing.
The second foal out of Lantiz, the female family traces back directly to champion Plugged Nickle and multiple graded winner Islefaxyou.
With one day left in the current sale, Omaha Beach is the leading Freshman Sire by average price at $273,750.
Omaha Beach has three lots remaining for Friday’s session, including a pair of colts who worked in a bullet :09 4/5 at the Under Tack show.
