Bolt d’Oro starts off OBS March sale with $300,000 colt
March 21, 2023
Bolt d’Oro, last year’s champion Freshman sire and current leading Second-Crop sire began the OBS March 2-year-olds in Training sale on a strong note when hip No. 15 sold for $300,000.
Paul Sharp, agent, consigned the bay Kentucky-bred, with Colts Neck Stables LLC the buyer of the juvenile, who had posted a :10 1/5-second workout at last week’s Under Tack show.
The colt is the second foal out of Scenic Road, who is a full sister to Lecomte S. (G3) winner Guest House. His fourth dam is Weekend Surprise, a multiple graded stakes winner who is the dam of A. P. Indy and Summer Squall.
Bolt d’Oro has seven lots remaining in the final two days of the catalog. In addition to leading the 2022 First-Crop list, Bolt d’Oro was ranked first among all North American sires of 2022 by 2-year-old stakes winners, stakes horses and graded stakes horses.
