Vino Rosso colt impresses with quick OBS Under Tack work

Eclipse Champion Vino Rosso’s first 2-year-old offerings at the upcoming OBS March 2-year-old sale include a colt who posted a lightning-quick :09 4/5 move during Thursday’s Under Tack show at the central Florida auction grounds.
Hip No. 544, a bay colt consigned by Brandon & Ali Rice’s Ricehorse Stable, agent, is a half-brother to Get Smokin, winner of the Hill Prince S. (G2) and the Tampa Bay S. (G3). This is also the family of female grass champion Dayatthespa and Arkansas Derby (G2) winner Clev Er Tell.
Vino Rosso was undefeated at two, won the Wood Memorial S. (G2) at three, and was at his best at four, winning the Gold Cup at Santa Anita Park (G1) and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) en route to Older Male honors.
Standing the 2023 season at Spendthrift for $15,000 live foal, Vino Rosso has 15 lots scheduled to sell at OBS, which kicks off its three-day run on Monday morning.
