Mitole colt fires bullet during OBS Under Tack opener

A 2-year-old colt from the first crop of champion Mitole posted the fastest furlong time during Tuesday’s session of the Under Tack show for next week’s OBS March Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.
The colt, hip No. 143, covered the distance in :09 4/5 seconds. The bay juvenile is consigned by Dynasty Thoroughbreds.
The colt is out of Toula, who is also the dam of multiple stakes winner Conquest Sandman as well as six other individual winners. Toula is a half-sister to Canadian champion Sweetest Thing, who in turn is the dam of champion First Thing.
During Wednesday’s show, a filly by Mitole matched the colt’s time. Hip No. 312, consigned by S B M Training and Sales, agent, is out of Blake’s Magic, who is a half-sister to another Canadian champion in Mobil.
Mitole has a total of 23 individuals in the OBS catalog for next week’s sale, which begins its three-day run on March 20.
Mitole, who was the Eclipse Champion Sprinter of 2019, has been very popular with breeders thus far, covering at least 200 mares in each of his first three seasons at stud. He stands this year for $15,000 live foal.
