July 12, 2022
Into Mischief’s Grade 2 winner Largent returned to the winner’s circle with a gritty performance in the $125,000 Edward P. Evans S. on July 11 at Colonial Downs (WATCH RACE).
The now 6-year-old won the 2020 renewal of the Evans, one of his three stakes wins that year.
Largent was prominent right from the start of the one-mile stake, tracking Passion Play through the first six furlongs. Largent forged to the lead at the top of the stretch, opened up by two lengths, then held comfortably held off Alex Joon by three quarters of a length.
The final time on the firm turf was 1:35.81.
Owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Twin Creek Racing Stables LLC, Largent is now 7-4-0 in 14 starts and has earned $579,320. Largent was bred by Lazy Lane Farms LLC and hails from the female family of 1976 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Bold Forbes. Largent’s signature win to date came in the 2020 Fort Lauderdale S. (G2).
Into Mischief now has 15 stakes winners to date, the most for any North American sire in 2022.
