Bolt d’Oro colt goes from last to first in debut victory

Agency overcame a tardy start to break his maiden by a length in his June 12 debut at Santa Anita Park.

The 2-year-old colt is Bolt d’Oro’s fourth winner from his first crop of runners, putting the Spendthrift stallion on the top of the 2022 Freshman Sires list.

Agency found himself in the back of the seven-horse field just after the start. He advanced to fifth entering the turn, then fanned well out into the middle of the track at the top of the stretch. He was still fourth with a furlong to go, but hit his best stride and surged to victory, covering the five furlongs in :59.77 on a fast track.

The winner was bred by Twin Creeks Farm and owned by Muir Hut Stables, LLC, who bought the dark bay for $400,000 at this year’s OBS March 2-year-old sale.
