Into Mischief juvenile turns in TDN ‘Rising Star’ debut performance
December 12, 2021
Doppelganger’s Dec. 11 debut at Los Alamitos showed the 2-year-old Into Mischief colt has a big future ahead of him after tallying a 3 ½-length maiden special weight score and earning the coveted TDN ‘Rising Star’ tag (WATCH RACE).
The bay juvenile is Into Mischief’s 29th Rising Star, joining an elite lineup that includes the likes of Life Is Good, Mandaloun and Goldencents.
Doppelganger’s margin of victory looked like it could have been much larger, but he was never asked for his best at any point of the six-furlong affair. Patiently sitting behind horses until the top of the stretch, Flavien Prat guided him to the two path and easily went by Trebbiano thereafter. On cruise control the rest of the way, Doppelganger stopped the timer in a swift 1:09.21 on the fast track.
The winner is owned by the partnership of Golconda Stable, Madaket Stables LLC, SF Racing LLC, Siena Farm LLC, Starlight Racing, Waves Edge Capital LLC, Catherine Donovan, Robert E Masterson & Jay A Schoenfarber. He was bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm and sold to his owners for $570,000 at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Select Yearling sale.
