November 28, 2021
Celestial Finish tallied a two-length victory Nov. 28 at Fair Grounds to become Gormley’s 20th winner from his first crop of runners (WATCH RACE).
Now a top-five First-Crop sire of individual winners and by wins, Gormley is second to only Gun Runner and Caravaggio by graded stakes horses as well.
Celestial Finish was in front at every point of call in Sunday’s 5 ½-furlong race for 2-year-olds. He dueled with Street N Sour through a half-mile in :46.32, then drew off in the stretch to win comfortably.
The winner races for Late Night Stables LLC and was bred in Kentucky by Rosa Colasanti, Dr. Naoya Yoshida and Kara McDermott. The well-bred colt is out of Crossing the Tape, making him a half-brother to stakes winner Life Mission. Crossing the Tape is a half-sister to two-time Grade 1 winner Gabby’s Golden Gal and multiple Grade 2 winner Always a Princess.
