Mitole hits a highwater mark with $200,000 colt at Keeneland
November 14, 2021
First-Crop sire Mitole had his best individual result thus far during Saturday’s session of the Keeneland November sale when hip No. 1214 brought a top bid of $200,000.
Mitole is in the top 5 on the Leading Freshman Sires of weanlings with a current average of $94,500. Spendthrift stallions Omaha Beach and Vino Rosso are 1-2 on the list, respectively.
Consigned by Wynnstay Sales, agent for breeder Allen Poindexter, with Three Chicks Thoroughbreds the winning buyer.
“Everybody liked this colt. He had 25 scopes,” said Wynnstay’s Tim Hamlin. “I’ve sold Mitoles for $100,000, $160,000 and now $200,000. What’s not to like?”
The chestnut youngster is the first foal out of Dashing Angel, who is a half-sister to both Frizette S. (G1) winner Sky Diva and multiple stakes winner Quick Little Miss.
