Bolt d’Oro had his best results thus far at the Keeneland September Yearling sale late in Thursday’s session when hip No. 1074 brought a winning bid of $550,000.
Consigned by Lantern Hill Farm LLC, agent, the bay colt went to West Bloodstock, agent on behalf of Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable.
The Kentucky-bred yearling is out of the Pulpit mare Frank’s Hope, also the dam of Strike Silver, a stakes winner at Keeneland who also ran second in the Sanford S. (G3). Frank’s Hope is out of Frizette S. (G1) winner Silver Maiden.
Bolt d’Oro was also represented Thursday by hip No. 1070, a colt consigned by Paramount Sales, agent and purchased by Exclusive Equine Investments for $200,000. The colt is out of Foolish Cause, who is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner and sire Get Stormy.
The Keeneland sale resumes on Saturday and concludes Sept. 24. Bolt d’Oro has 54 yearlings cataloged for the remainder of the auction.
