July 14, 2021
Cloud Computing’s first yearlings offered at Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July sale included a pair of colts that brought $160,000 and $155,000 during the one-day auction.
From the first crop of the Preakness S. (G1) winner, the duo helped boost his sale average to $89,000, nearly 18 times his $5,000 stud fee.
Hip No. 51 was the day’s topper for the Spendthrift stallion. Consigned by Gainesway, agent, the dark bay went to Kenny McPeek, agent. The regally-bred colt is out of the stakes-placed My Lady Lauren and her third dam is Star of Goshen, dam of multiple Grade 1 winner and late stallion Pioneerof the Nile.
“The Cloud Computing colt (we purchased) I thought was just fantastic colt,” said McPeek.
Earlier in the session hip No. 24, consigned by Brandywine Farm, went to Eisaman Equine. Another dark bay, the colt is a half-brother to stakes winner Tizsfranderella, while his fourth dam is Evil Elaine, dam of Horse of the Year Favorite Trick.
