Cinco Charlie filly digs deep to earn maiden win
September 4, 2020
Netti Girl fought back after losing the lead in mid-stretch to break her maiden by three-quarters of a length in a five-furlong race Sept. 3 at Laurel Park.
The dark bay filly is Cinco Charlie’s seventh winner, which is tied for second-most by any First-Crop sire.
Netti Girl, owned and trained by Courtney Young, made her move for the lead entering the stretch, then was soon after headed by Claire’s Darling, but responded with a very game effort to forge to the lead in the final 50 yards.
The winner was bred by Bryan Minnich.
