Largent makes successful leap into stakes company
July 31, 2020
Into Mischief got his nation-leading 19th stakes winner of 2020 on July 30 at Colonial Downs when Largent scored a one-length victory in the Edward P. Evans S. in his first black type outing.
Largent is only a neck and a head away from being undefeated in six starts. He upped his earnings to $134,670 for owners Twin Creeks Racing Stables and Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners.
Despite facing just three foes, Largent did not get an ideal trip. For the first six furlongs, he was trapped along the inside behind the leader, and it wasn’t until mid-stretch that he was able to split horses and outrun Embolden to the wire, finishing the mile in 1:36.14 (VIDEO).
Largent was bred by Lazy Lane Farms and sold to his owners for $460,000 at the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling sale. Largent’s dam Life in Seattle has produced three stakes winners and her dam Life At the Top won six graded stakes and nearly $1 million in the mid-1980’s.
