First Hit It a Bomb yearling hammers for $140,000 at KEESEP

Breeders’ Cup champ Hit It a Bomb’s initial yearling through the ring at the Keeneland September sale brought a winning bid of $140,000 on Sept. 15.
Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent for Spendthrift Farm, hip No. 1377 went to Jordan Blair Racing, LLC. The dark bay colt’s dam Sliced Bread is already a proven producer, with her Jimmy Creed colt Kanthaka winner of both the San Vicente S. (G2) and Laz Barrera S. (G3). Sliced Bread herself is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Proud Heiress and Red Chili Pepper.
Hit It a Bomb’s first crop are yearlings of 2019. A son of leading sire War Front, Hit It a Bomb was undefeated at two, culminating the season with a victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1). He remains the only Breeders’ Cup winner to date by War Front.
A full brother to Grade 1 winner Brave Anna, Hit It a Bomb entered stud at Spendthrift in 2017 and stood this year for $5,000, live foal stands and nurses.
