Wicked Runner won his debut in the Clasico Jose Coll Vidal S. (G3) at Camarero Race Track to become Wicked Strong’s first black type winner on Sept. 1. The Spendthrift stallion now has nine winners overall, among the top 10 of all First-Crop stallions.
The 2-year-old chestnut won the six-furlong affair by a neck over Amansa Guapo after a stretch-long battle, finishing the distance in 1:11.55.
Bred in Kentucky by George E. Bates Trustee, Wicked Runner is the first foal out of the El Corredor mare Herman’s Wildcat, who is a half-sister to two-time stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Annie’s Candy.
