Jimmy Creed 2YO collects first stakes win
August 25, 2019
X Clown earned his first stakes victory in just his third lifetime start in the Evangeline Downs Prince S., winning the six-furlong race by three-quarters of a length with a big closing kick in the final quarter-mile (VIDEO).
Beaten just a neck in the July 6 D Shine Young Futurity at the same track, X Clown has won two of his three starts for owner Set-Hut LLC.
The chestnut juvenile capped a very nice week for his sire that also included King Jack’s runner-up finish to Grade 1 winner Improbable in the $100,000 Shared Belief S. at Del Mar, and also allowance winner Roman Creed and a maiden special weight tally by Jimmy G.
Last in the field of six most of the way, X Clown started his move midway on the turn, went very wide into the stretch, then rolled by the entire field to get the distance in 1:11.73 on a muddy racetrack.
X Clown was bred by Michael and Cynthia Villar and is the second foal out of Evening Muse, whose dam Go Go was four-time graded stakes winner in California.
