$370,000 session-topping filly for Flat Out at OBS April
April 24, 2019
Flat Out had the top-priced filly during Tuesday’s opening session of the OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training when Martin Anthony went to $370,000 for hip No. 224.
The chestnut filly, hip No. 224 consigned by Costanzo Sales, had breezed a furlong in a swift 10 seconds flat during the Under Tack Show and impressed many onlookers with an equally strong gallop out.
Bred in Kentucky by Jay Ar Dee Stables & Richard Reed, the flashy chestnut is out of the Langfuhr mare Knockatrina, also the dam of stakes winner and track record holder Hembree.
Third-Crop Sire Flat Out has continued to produce winners at an impressive rate, with 33 to date this year, second among all sires of his generation.
