Devine Mischief goes gate-to-wire for second stakes win
April 20, 2019
Sent straight to the front from the gate, Devine Mischief led at every point of call to take the $100,000 Dance to Bristol S. on April 20 at Charles Town Races.
The 4-year-old Into Mischief filly, who has been trained from the beginning of the year by Javier Contreras for Breeze Easy LLC, won a Woodbine stakes in her last 2018 outing and is now 5-3-1 in 12 starts, with a bankroll of $259,468.
The final margin of victory in the seven-furlong race was a neck over Isotope, and a final time of 1:25.61.
Bred by Spendthrift Farm, Devine Mischief is out of Vibrant, making her a full sister to $1.2 million earner Vicar’s in Trouble and a half-sister to stakes-placed Harbour Island. Devine Mischief sold for $450,000 to her owner at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton March Select Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.
Devine Mischief is Into Mischief’s third stakes winner of the month, joining Owendale (G3 Lexington S. at Keeneland) and Fight On (Fifth Season S. at Oaklawn Park).
