Milestone win for Miss Mischief in Bessarabian S. (G2)
November 15, 2015
Miss Mischief got the biggest win of her career in Sunday’s $200,000 Bessarabian S. (G2) at Woodbine and also surpassed the half-million dollar mark in earnings in her stellar career that now includes four stakes victories.
The 5-year-old daughter of Into Mischief had three black type wins prior to Sunday, but had never captured a graded stakes. That all changed when she stormed down the Woodbine stretch in Diane Manning’s brilliant lime green silks to take the seven furlong contest by 2 ¼-lengths in a very fast 1:21.72.
“(Trainer) Dale (Capuano) said to just try and give her a clear trip outside,” said winning rider Eurico Rosa da Silva. “She was keen and following the race pretty good, just waiting for me to turn her loose.”
Miss Mischief’s dam, the stakes-placed Kid Majic, is a half-sister to Grade One winner J P’s Gusto and to graded stakes-placed Magic Appeal. The winner was bred in Kentucky by Allen Pointdexter.
With the win, Miss Mischief is 9-2-2 in 23 starts and has earned $522,980.
